Porritt School is located in Tamatea, Napier, and sits in the rohe of Ngāti Kahungunu.  We are part of the Ahuriri Kāhui Ako and cater for learners in from New Entrant to Year 6. Learning at Porritt School is underpinned by the school’s PRIDE values, and supported by five strategic pillars derived from the school whakatauaki; Mā māia, ko mātau. Mā mātau, ko momoho. Mā momoho, ka puta ki te whai ao, ki te Ao Mārama e.

“TŪ MAI E MOKO. TE WHAKAATA O Ō MĀTUA. TE MOKO O Ō TĪPUNA”

- "STAND STRONG O MOKO. THE REFLECTION OF YOUR PARENTS.THE BLUEPRINT OF YOUR ANCESTORS”

We recognise the unique place of Maōri learners in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and in our kura. We are committed to enacting our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We look for opportunities to uphold and affirm the whakapapa of our learners, as well as strengthening the identity of these ākonga within our school.
